3 Simple Strategies I Use For Faster Results

Like so many of you right now, I've been stuck at home for the last several weeks -

And maybe you've noticed that staying motivated while working out at home is tough...

So I want to share with you 3 easy strategies that will make your at home workouts more effective and fun. A side effect is that you will get all the benefits of an intense workout in less than 45 mins.

1- COMPOUND MOVEMENTS

This is a simple concept. Compound Movement refers to utilizing multiple muscle groups during a set. For example, a Squat is a compound exercise that works the quadriceps, glutes, and calves. But add an Overhead Shoulder Press and BANG! now you added upper body muscles to your movement.

Compound exercise allows you to get a full-body workout in less time, keeps your heart rate up offering cardiovascular benefits and generally burns more calories. Because it simulates real-world movements, it helps to build strength for everyday living.

2- WORKOUT VARIETY

Adding variety to your workouts isn’t just the natural antidote to boredom; it’s the best remedy for the inevitable plateau we hit when we stay on the same track too long.

Over time our bodies start adapting to the workout and it is imperative that we change things up so we can continue to progress.

3- PERIODIZED PROGRESS

Have you ever felt that after weeks of working out you have not seen changes? The answer is you are not focusing in Periodized Progress. Now what does this term means? Periodized Progress can be defined as gradually developing towards a more advanced state through organizational training with structured change.

Here are some examples:

Doing more work in the same amount or less time

Performing more difficult variations of an exercise

Adding other elements to increase workout intensity

Achieving our fitness goals is all about having a set plan in place and utilizing all the tools and strategies available to us. The 3 strategies that I just mentioned are essential building blocks in my workouts at Battle Ready Fitness Bootcamp and our Daily Virtual Sessions

While we are all quarantined there is no reason to give up on staying healthy in body, mind and soul. So join our daily sessions they are free. It's my way of helping our community and building stronger bonds.
